The "Cycle Route Airport - Metro - Lama Balice" will: it was accepted by the Region's request for financing submitted by the city of Bari in the regional call Development of trails for use of the natural landscape including forms that encourage intermodality between urban and rural networks. Will be made so the bike path that connects the airport to park Lama Balice and is the first section of the connection path between the airport "Karol Wojtyla" and the city center.
The total project is equal to € 535,000, 135,000 of them to be paid by the municipal budget. In addition to promoting multi modes between plane and train and bicycle and bicycle, the project aims to make it easier to park Lama Balice, characterized by significant environmental features, architectural and archaeological sites.
This first part of the cycle route was born in a partially urbanized area extending from the Bari airport and up to Avenue Europe, extending along the slope of the blade Balice, the only regional park project involves the protection of Bari implementation over 3.5 km of cycle paths.
Of particular importance will be the bike path about 1 km that pass by the Lama Balice, made with stabilized material dust. In the stretches where traffic density and speed of the machines could pose a hazard, will be built bike paths raised from street level to provide greater safety for cyclists.
